Trump kicks off presidential campaign


Former President Donald Trump kicked off his 2024 presidential campaign in the Granite State, speaking at the annual meeting of the New Hampshire Republican Party.Trump was the keynote speaker at the meeting, which was held at Salem High School on Saturday. I look forward to helping him get out the vote for the 2024 cycle, and he will win the Republican primary, no doubt, in two years,” said former congressional candidate and Trump White House employee Karoline Leavitt. Former President Trump also talked about some of his priorities, strengthening the southern border, election integrity and keeping New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation status. “From the very beginning, I’ve strongly defended New Hampshire’s First in the Nation Primary status; I have been your defender. I have been your defender. And I’ve refused to let any Republican – and there are some, you know who they are – take that cherished status away,” Trump said.President Joe Biden defeated Trump in New Hampshire in the 2020 election by a 52% to 45% margin. Trump declared in November his candidacy for president in 2024. Before Trump declared his candidacy, an August 2022 poll showed strong support for the former president among New Hampshire Republicans. Gov. Chris Sununu, who has been discussed as a possible 2024 presidential candidate himself, was not at the meeting. The governor left New Hampshire for Washington D.C. Friday for the Alfalfa Club’s Annual Dinner as an invited guest, according to his office. He will return to the state on Sunday. Trump departed New Hampshire Saturday afternoon and went to South Carolina for an event.
